Hamilton Island
Perched on the saddle of Dent island, a few hundred metres across the water from Hamilton Island Marina, is the magnificent Hamilton Island Golf Club. The only access to the island is via a small ferry that bounces back every hour. The layout of the course is perfect for its location and environment; it is a typical resort course: wonderful on the eye, enjoyable when played from the front tees and rather nasty of the blacks.

On Hamilton Island, you’ll never find yourself short of things to do, with a huge number of daily activities and entertainment options. If you’re in the mood for relaxing, you can lounge by one of the many island pools, enjoy a massage or spa treatment, indulge in some renowned food and wine, browse some of the local boutiques, or simply explore the island in your golf buggy and enjoy the spectacular views at every turn. You can also explore the magnificent Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach in a way that suits you; via helicopter, seaplane or yacht, or one of our popular catamaran tours.

We would love to share our expertise with you and would be delighted to put together your golf holiday package to Hamilton Island.

Hamilton Island Golf Club

The 18-hole, par 71 Hamilton Island Golf Course is said to be one of the most challenging in the world. Designed by five-time British Open winner Peter Thomson, and taking full advantage of Mother Nature’s work, the course is strung along the spectacular ridges and steep valleys of Dent Island. The course boasts a variety of obstacles for those willing to take on the challenge – wicked winds; impenetrable bushland; people have even called the 14th hole, the ‘Valley of Death’. Despite its punishing design the golf course is a ‘must do’ for both novice and professional golfers, catering for all experience levels. Plus, with spectacular views of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands and Coral Sea, the contemporary Clubhouse is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after your unforgettable golfing experience.

Attractions

Hamilton Island is one of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia, close to the Great Barrier Reef. Most of the car-free island is covered in bushland, and the coast is fringed by coral reefs. Tours offer up-close sightings of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and kookaburras. Trails lead up to Passage Peak in the east, with views of the surrounding islands.

Whether you’re looking for adrenalin-inducing adventure, or something a little more relaxed and scenic, Hamilton Island offers a whole selection of island experiences to suit all ages and fitness levels.
